Our Organisation is AGILE

Our core values connect us all and the work we do with young people.

Aspire: Strive to be the best in everything you do.

Grow: Continuously develop and learn.

Innovate: Think outside the box.

Legacy: Leave a positive impact.

Ethical: Always do what is right.

Our mission is to significantly improve the lives of the children and young people we care for.

All the staff and foster carers at Family Care are treated and respected as professionals.

You will be working alongside therapeutic practitioners, support workers, and social workers who you can trust to do their very best for a young person.  You will be fully supported, valued, and recognised in the work you do, and you will receive a competitive fostering allowance.

We follow an established therapeutic practice model, which you will receive training on. Our therapy team delivers many of our training sessions, and you will get to know our small team on a first-name basis.

Through consultations and training events, you will form a professional working relationship with Family Care therapists who bring an abundance of passion, knowledge and innovative thinking to the table.

A Vibrant, Inclusive Foster Community

When you join Family Care, you’ll have access to regular support groups where you can connect with fellow foster carers who understand the unique joys and challenges of fostering.

These support groups provide a safe space to share experiences, exchange advice, and offer each other encouragement. It’s a chance to build relationships with others who truly “get it” and can provide valuable insights and support.

At Family Care, we’re proud of our welcoming foster parent community.

It’s a place where you can find understanding, encouragement, and a network of caring individuals who share your passion for making a difference in the lives of children.

Our community is built on kindness, empathy, and a genuine desire to support one another. Whether it’s seeking advice, celebrating milestones, or simply sharing a laugh, you’ll find a warm and welcoming atmosphere among our foster parent community.

Around the Clock Support

At Family Care, we go beyond just offering a fostering service. Our team is here to provide you with comprehensive support around the clock. We understand that fostering is a significant responsibility, and we’re committed to ensuring you have the assistance you need every step of the way.

One of the key aspects of our service is the availability of 24/7 support with monthly foster care support groups.

We know that fostering can present unexpected challenges and situations, and we want you to feel reassured that you can reach out to us at any time. Whether it’s a pressing question, a concern, or the need for immediate guidance, our team is just a call away. We’re dedicated to being there for you whenever you need us.

Ongoing Training and Development

At our foster agency, we believe in providing our foster parents with exceptional training programs that are tailored to meet their unique needs. We understand that fostering can be a challenging but rewarding experience, and we’re committed to ensuring that our foster parents receive the best possible preparation to succeed.

One of our top priorities is to deliver high-quality training programs that are suitable and easily accessible for all our foster parents. We offer a range of training options that cater to different learning styles and preferences, including in-person sessions, and workshops.

Our training covers a wide range of topics, from the basics of foster care to more specialised areas such as dealing with trauma, attachment, and behavioural issues. We also provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure that our foster parents feel confident and equipped to handle any situation that may arise.

We believe that every foster parent deserves access to quality training programs, regardless of their location or availability.

An Abundance of Family Activities

At Family Care, we understand the importance of creating unforgettable experiences for the children and young people in our care. That’s why our dedicated in-house support team organises a wide range of exciting activities throughout the year.

We plan and coordinate 15-20 specially tailored activities annually to engage and entertain our young people. From thrilling trips to Alton Towers for exhilarating rides and adventures to attending live shows like X Factor Live, we ensure our young people have opportunities to enjoy enriching and memorable experiences.

We also organise an annual action-packed adventure weekend, designed for children aged 11-17. This residential trip allows them to participate in thrilling activities, build friendships with peers facing similar circumstances, and create lasting memories.

It’s a chance for them to challenge themselves, discover new interests, and step out of their comfort zones.

But it’s not just about the children—Family Care values fostering a sense of togetherness among foster families. That’s why we also arrange fun social activities that the whole family can enjoy.

Whether it’s a delightful picnic in the park, a family outing to a local attraction, or coming together for holiday celebrations, these activities provide valuable opportunities for foster families to relax, connect, and form meaningful bonds with one another.

Your Own Dedicated Support Worker and Therapist

At Family Care, we provide personalised support to our foster parents.

When you join our agency, you’ll be assigned a dedicated supervising social worker who will be your main point of contact.

Your personal social worker will be there for you every step of the way, offering guidance and assistance to help you thrive as a foster parent. They’ll regularly check in with you, monitor your progress, and provide ongoing support.

You will also be working directly with a qualified in-house therapist. They’ll listen, guide, and offer practical advice, whether it’s a simple conversation about your experiences or a deeper discussion on challenges and concerns.

Their primary goal is to help you enhance your abilities as a foster parent. Through open communication, they’ll identify areas for growth, provide valuable feedback, and suggest training opportunities and resources to make you an even more effective caregiver.

At Family Care, we’re dedicated to supporting you throughout your fostering journey.

Regular Placement Opportunities

Family Care is not just any foster care agency. We’re a family-owned organisation that has been working passionately with children and young people for over 30 years. Our approach is rooted in strong values and a commitment to providing therapeutic care.

Being one of the most reputable agencies in the Northwest and the Midlands, our services are highly sought after. We have built a solid reputation based on our expertise and the positive impact we’ve made on countless lives.

Our experienced team is dedicated to finding the perfect match for you.

We understand the urgency and importance of finding a suitable placement, and we work tirelessly to make it happen.

Excellent Fostering Allowance

At our agency, we really believe in giving our foster carers fair compensation for the incredible work they do. We want you to feel valued and appreciated every step of the way. That’s why we offer a range of support and payments to make sure you’re taken care of.

First off, we know that attending training and support groups can involve some travel. We don’t want you to worry about the costs, so we provide mileage support.

For every mile you travel, we’ll reimburse you at a rate of 25p.

Taking a break and having some time for yourself is essential too. That’s why we offer annual leave payments. You can enjoy up to 2 weeks of paid leave per year, based on a pro-rata basis.

It’s important to recharge and come back feeling refreshed, knowing that you still have financial support during your time off.

Now, let’s talk about compensation. We believe in being fair and transparent. We provide a combination of a ‘boarding-out’ fee and a professional fee, which means you can earn between £380 – £750 per week per child.

The exact amount depends on the type of fostering you provide and the age and needs of the child in your care. We follow government guidelines to make sure everything is above board, and everyone is treated fairly.

Transfer Foster Agency Today

Accommodating Foster Families with Current Foster Children

Can I transfer if I already foster a child with another agency?

Absolutely! You have the option to transfer your foster care to a different agency if that’s what you’re considering. The most important factor to keep in mind throughout this process is the well-being of the child in your care.

When you decide to pursue a transfer, both you and your current foster agency will need to come together for a meeting. This meeting is crucial as it involves all the parties involved in the care of the foster child. It provides an opportunity for everyone to discuss and coordinate the transfer in the best interest of the child.

During the meeting, you’ll have the chance to communicate your reasons for the transfer and any specific requirements or preferences you may have regarding the new agency. It’s important to openly discuss these matters so that everyone can work together to ensure a smooth transition for the child.

Remember, the primary goal here is to guarantee the welfare and stability of the child throughout the transfer process. The agencies involved will collaborate to make sure that all necessary information, documentation, and support are provided to facilitate the transfer in a timely manner.

If you have any more questions or concerns regarding the transfer process, don’t hesitate to reach out to both your current agency and the potential new agency. They are there to guide you and assist you throughout this journey of fostering a child.

Ultimately, the focus is on creating a nurturing and loving environment for the child, and by exploring a transfer, you’re taking an active step towards ensuring their continued well-being and happiness.
