Can I Foster?

The application process to become a foster carer is very in-depth, and includes background checks and references.

However, these are the basic requirements to apply in the UK:

You must have a spare bedroom
You must be over 21 years old (there is no upper age limit)
British Citizenship or indefinite leave to remain in the UK

You do not need any qualifications or experience. Full training will be provided free of charge and you will receive 24/7 support.

You can become a foster carer regardless of gender, sexuality, ethnicity or faith. What is most important is what you can offer a young person.

From when you submit your application, it usually takes around 4-6 months to complete checks and obtain your registration.

The process to become a foster carer usually takes about 4-6 months to complete.

During that time we will carry out checks, ask for personal and employment references, and you will have to complete a medical as part of the assessment.
