What is a fostering drop-in session?

In a nutshell, our fostering drop-in sessions are small, in-person events that allow prospective foster parents to talk candidly with a fostering team member and ask any questions they may have about becoming foster carers.

Our hosts will be happy to talk you through any queries you may have regarding the application process, fostering allowances, the support offered to our foster carers and more.

We host our drop-in sessions around the Northwest and The Midlands in relaxed, accessible venues such as Costa Coffee, Morrisons, IKEA and Starbucks.

How do our drop-in sessions work?

Discover where and when our drop-in sessions will be by checking our events calendar. Here, you will be provided with the time, location, and information on the nearest car parks to the venue.

Follow our Facebook page to be reminded of upcoming events, as well as the relevant information for each event.

We aim to make these drop-in sessions as relaxed and stress-free as possible for anyone curious about attending them.

What happens after a drop-in session?

If you feel you would like more information about any fostering-related queries you may have from these events, feel free to leave your contact details, and a member of our fostering team will call at a time that’s most convenient for you. (Your data will be held in accordance with GDPR regulations and won’t be shared with anyone outside our organisation)

We would like to stress- there is no obligation for you to continue with the process at any point during your application.

We understand that making the decision to become a foster carer can be a life-changing one, and this is why we respect and value your decision, whatever you decide.

Who can attend the drop-in sessions?

We welcome everyone to attend our drop-in sessions!

They offer a great opportunity to meet some of our wonderful fostering team and learn about Family Care and our mission to improve the lives of young people.

If you are 21 or over, have a spare room, and are a UK citizen, you can become a foster carer. So, why not come along to one of our upcoming events and discover how you could make a life-changing difference?
