Salary range: £19,152 to £21,888 plus waking night uplift

We are looking for night-shift residential childcare workers who will maintain a safe environment overnight within our children’s home.

Supporting up to four young people with learning disabilities and complex needs, we are seeking night-shift workers at both our Wythenshawe and Oldham children’s homes.

Shifts will include direct engagement with young people and your team members, and will involve a balance of administrative duties, personal care and housekeeping.

Experience with Learning Disabilities or Mental Health support for adults or children, either through employment or your own personal experiences is desirable for this role.  Recognised care certificates such as NVQ or CQF are desirable but not essential as we can offer training from day one and fantastic career pathways to develop you to gain these qualifications.

Must Have's

  • Patience and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to work calmly alone or within a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to write clear and accurate reports
  • Be able to work on a shift/rota basis
  • Happy to undergo an enhanced DBS certificate upon appointment

Nice To Have's

  • Possessing a Level 3 in Children’s and Young People’s Workforce is desirable (if you don’t have this we will fund it for you)
  • Previous residential childcare experience (Not nursery/early years)
  • Experience of working with young people in a paid or voluntary capacity
