A specialist independent school in Macclesfield where every child is part of the family. We offer a bespoke and individualised education for young people aged 6-16 with autism, ADHD, and/or social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Eden School has established a wonderful reputation as a close-knit, supportive community dedicated to helping learners achieve positive outcomes. By creating a calm, safe, and consistent environment, we provide a space where students feel they truly belong.
Learners who may have previously faced challenges with school life are helped to feel secure, re-engage with their education, and build confidence for the future.
Jen Lamidey
Headteacher
At Eden School, our priority is creating a warm and welcoming community where every pupil feels they belong. We take the time to understand each child's unique needs and interests, building a foundation of trust and respect. It is a privilege to lead a team so dedicated to helping our young people develop not just academically, but also emotionally and socially, preparing them for a confident and successful future.
She is passionate about finding bespoke packages for children who have previously been considered hard to reach, many of whom have been out of education.
We consistently see pupils who have previously struggled in education start to thrive, with a curriculum that is based around their individual needs.
Pupils are involved in shaping their own curriculum which improves their engagement for learning. The curriculum is delivered in a cross curricular way, with digital technology playing an important part.
iPads are used regularly and film-making technologies such as ‘green screen’ and ‘stop motion animation’ are used to enhance the teaching of English.
Supporting the wellbeing of each pupil is a core part of what we do, and therapeutic approaches are integral to the culture at Eden School.
A priority for us is to support pupils to develop their emotional literacy and social skills alongside their academic skills. This enables pupils to begin to self-regulate their behaviours and take responsibility for their own learning.
Supporting pupils to take an active part in the wider community and to develop their life skills are important elements of our teaching.
Learning regularly takes place outside the classroom and this serves to enhance the curriculum and support pupils to develop their social skills and self-esteem.
