At just nine years old, Finley-Jay, a student at Rodenhust School, has become a local hero for his amazing efforts to bring joy to ambulance crews at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. Inspired by a social media group called "Hit the Ambulance Gamers," Finley has taken the concept of random acts of kindness to new heights. The group encourages gestures like smiles, waves, and gifts for ambulance crews, but Finley has gone above and beyond by creating and distributing goody bags to the hard workers at his local hospital!

These thoughtful bags, filled with tea, coffee, sweets, biscuits, chocolates, and pens, are made possible through donations from Finley's friends and family. Special seasonal bags are also prepared for holidays like Easter, Halloween, and Christmas. His efforts have not only touched the lives of paramedics but have also inspired everyone around him.

Spreading Kindness, One Bag at a Time

Whenever he has spare time, Finley and his mother, Laura, head to the hospital's A&E department to deliver the bags to arriving ambulance crews. Laura beams with pride as she shares how popular her son has become among the crews, who now look forward to his visits. "I am so proud of him - he is such a kind little boy. The Shrewsbury ambulance crews all know him now," she said.

Finley's efforts haven't gone unnoticed. Will Gould, Senior Operations Manager at West Midlands Ambulance Service's Shrewsbury Hub, expressed his gratitude: "Our staff don't do the job for thanks, but having someone like Finley handing out goody bags certainly makes the role even more worthwhile. A really big 'thank you' to him and his mum Laura."

A Ripple Effect of Positivity

Finley's passion for helping others has also earned praise from Hayley Flavell, Director of Nursing at Shrewsbury & Telford Hospital NHS Trust. "What a lovely and kind gesture by Finley - his goody bags will make all the difference to the ambulance crews that arrive at our hospital. Well done, Finley!" she said.

Despite his young age and living with ADHD, Finley's determination to make a difference shines bright. His initiative has grown so much that he now shares his journey on his Facebook page, "Finley-Jay's Ambulance Bags Journey" Through his page, he continues to inspire others to support his mission and spread kindness in their own communities.

The Power of Small Acts

Finley's story is a testament to the incredible impact small acts of kindness can have. By dedicating his time and energy to show appreciation for those who work tirelessly to save lives, Finley has become an inspiration to all of us at Family Care Group and Family Care Education His goody bags are more than just treats; they're a reminder of the profound effect compassion can have on others.

As we celebrate Finley's efforts, let us all be reminded of the power of kindness and the difference even the smallest gestures can make. Finley's story teaches us that no matter how young or old we are, we can all play a part in making the world a better place.

Real stories, real impact

Before fostering we worked full time. I worked for a global company and Damian worked as a manager for a truck parts company. In addition, we also ran a children’s club for 9 years at a local church we attended near a local council estate.
